New Friends and a Kick Ass Car!

I am the worst blogger since coming home , I know. It is just so much more exciting living in another country. I guess living in a new city has been awesome too, but it has come with so many new challenges that I was not expecting. The job market is far more competitive than Calgary and making friends at this age is just not that easy. However, things have been looking up. I am waiting to hear back from more exciting new jobs, I have made some new friends and I just bought a new awesome car.

Last night I went to my friends Lindsay's house for a birthday party. I currently work at the YMCA with her and chase cute kindergarten kids around with her during the day. The party was a blast and I got to meet a bunch of new people. Ohhh, how nice to have friends again!

Here is one of Chelsea, Lindsay and myself after having a few drinks in us. It is funny because they are both younger than me, but married. Huh? Yeah, I've been learning that most people here my age are actually married. Scary!

I loved this picture of Chelsea and Lindsay. Such a happy and fun group of people! I think that there will be more fun times ahead.

And now for the car! Yes, the car. I am so damn excited about this. I can't believe how much I missed driving the past few years. And trust me I tried to survive here without a car for the past few months. I guess since I started doing youth work again at night at some of the rough sides of Burnaby having a car is essential now. I realized how interesting the Skytrain can be already and I don't want to chance it here at night. Anyways, back to the CAR. Yes, I bought a beautiful BMW 325. What? A BMW? That is what I thought. Granted it is an 1988, but it is beautiful! I lucked out having an uncle here that is a BIG police officer. It happened to be his mechanics, so it is amazing shape and I got a great deal. So here is to driving around in style.
